crazy

This is crazy, this is absolutely crazy. The entire point of a blog is to be able to write what you feel like, in an unhibited manner. But if, like Gaurav Sabnis and Rashmi Bansal, one is going to be villified and sued then one will really have to think about what one writes. The idea of a blog is to be able to put down the stuff you can't put down in mainstream media or mainstream public domain, but if companies are going to be pressurised and people are going to have to lose their jobs, then it's really pathetic. We'll all have to start using codes -- now I know what that ridiculous thing called the 'P' language was invented -- to get over their heads. Hmm....

Here is where Gaurav has posted the mail IIPM sent him.

Conman: which person are you talking about? To the best of my knowledge, no one has "disconnected" anything.

You guys are both late on this anyway...the campaign is pretty much over, having succeeded in getting the issue into mainstream media (an article in Business World was particularly comprehensive) - beyond that frankly, I don't think anyone really believed much would come of it. But at least we (the bloggers) have succeeded in shaking those guys up somewhat.

Write your mind, please do, GSB. But "free speech" is often more a phrase than anything else.

Trust your initial outline. Trust your honourable judgement. It's not quite an easy garden walk, but once you get your eyes in and balance good... splendid

Indeed, writer-in-exile. Your judgement, your honour, is earned bit by bit as your reputation for fairness grows.

Hey Jabberwock, yes I know I'm late on this. But hey, better late than never. This link by the way is a post Gaurav wrote after he received IIPM's threat mail. He calls it 'disconnecting my cable'. I have corrected the link. And hey IIPM issued an ad in HT today, so the issue isn't over yet!

Conman: Check the link now, I've corrected it. Yes it did have two https in it. Or google the issue. It's everywhere. Read Rashmi's blog as well, and some of the rubbish that people have written in it as comments.

Thanks egg style: will keep writing

FYC: my fave band at one time. ummm! what really are you talking about?

A lot of the really interesting stuff on the issue you won’t find on Google. Call up sometime if you want a better idea of what’s going on.
